Whether you’re saving for a new car or a down payment on a house, budgeting in this current economy can be tough! I swear, basic necessities keep getting more expensive, while our wages keep getting smaller and smaller.

Luckily for all the couples out there, you do have the option of downloading a budgeting app to keep you accountable during your saving journey.

Now, while there are so many apps available to people in the app store, many don’t really help when it comes to budgeting. Luckily for you, I am here to save the day and let you in on the best budgeting apps for couples. Now before I go out on a tangent, let’s get right into it!

What is a budgeting app?

Before we get started, let’s sort out what precisely a budgeting app is! A budgeting app is a programmed software that allows you to track your spending, make savings goals, and notify you when you have upcoming bill payments to make.

You can typically download these on your phone for easy access or onto your computer as well! You can even set up your and your partner’s accounts to keep track of both your savings and keep each other accountable if you want!

The app will send both you and your partner a notification when you have upcoming bills. Hence, both of you stay on top of paying everything off as soon as possible.

Pocket Guard is a fantastic budgeting app; however, you are going to have to drop some money first to be able to use the app if you want to use all of its features. While this app does come in a free version, you can also pay for the premium version for $34.99 annually.

The Pocket Guard App allows you and your partner to synch your bank accounts, loans, credit cards, and any investments. Hence, you are both able to track what is going on in terms of your money.

A great feature of this app is calculating how much money you have to spend during each day or event such as date night. The app also has the ability to track your spending and tell you where you are spending your money the most.

If you want to pay for the premium app, you will be granted access to additional features such as the ability to customize your own spending categories for the month.

A cool feature of your app which is perfect for couples who like to split the bill on a night out or one an item is the ability to split transactions directly on the app, which will transfer money to the other person’s account.
