Looking for some great time management strategies? Here are 7 excellent reasons why you never have enough time and exactly what to do about it.

Are you always wishing you had more time available to you?

The truth is, you probably have plenty of time.

Have you considered the fact that you may not be just making a wise use of your time?

Maybe you’re just not focused, and you’re not using your time wisely.

Here’s the thing: Everyone receives 24 hours each day.

There’s a reason why some people are accomplishing much more than you are and are still able to be on time for all of their commitments.

These reasons could be why you never have enough time:

TIME MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES

ISSUE # 1 – You fail to prioritize.

What’s the most important activity you must do in order for you to accomplish your objective?

If you’re not asking yourself this question regularly, you’re not getting the most bang for your time and effort.

It’s easy to stay very busy but fail to accomplish much.

  • Ask yourself, “What is the most important thing I need to accomplish?”
  • Then ask yourself, “What is the best way for me to accomplish that?”

TIME MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES

ISSUE # 2 – You waste time.

This could be due to procrastination. It could be due to inefficient work habits.

  • Make the choice to avoid wasting time, period.

Procrastination is the bad habit of putting off until the day after tomorrow what should have been done the day before yesterday. Napoleon Hill

A day can slip by when you’re deliberately avoiding what you’re supposed to do. Bill Watterson

Actin will destroy your procrastination. Og Mandino

A man who procrastinates in his choosing will inevitably have his choice made for him by circumstances. Hunter S. Thompson

My advice is to never do tomorrow what you can do today. Procrastination is the thief of time. Charles Dickens

TIME MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES

ISSUE # 3 – You’re disorganized.

When you’re not organized, everything takes longer than it should.

You spend time looking for a pair of clean socks, your car keys, searching for files on your computer, and trying to pull off things at the last minute.

  • Disorganized people never seem to have enough time, and they’re frequently late with their work. You can’t do big things if you’re constantly distracted by small things. Be about actions rather than distractions.
  • Make an effort to organize your life and yourself. There are many resources dedicated to organization. Use them. Release the distractions that are holding you back and focus on one thing only. Getting it done.
  • Your life is too important to give it to distractions. Stop getting distracted by things that have nothing to do with your goals.

Disorganization can scarcely fail to result in efficiency. Dwight D. Eisenhower

TIME MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES

ISSUE # 4 – You have too many distractions in your life.

It could be low-quality social interactions, TV, a craft project, your baseball card collection, noisy kids, clutter, or your prize-winning rose bushes.

Having too many things in your life takes too much time.

  • Remove the things from your life that are unnecessary. Minimize the distractions you can’t remove, like your noisy children! Starve your distractions. Feed your focus.

Your results are the product of either personal focus or personal distractions. The choice is yours. John Di Lemme

Distractions destroy action. If it’s not moving you towards your purpose, leave it alone. Jermaine Riley

Life is a hailstorm of distractions. It’s not the monster that stops us but the mosquito. Robert G. Allen

Stay focused, ignore the distractions, and you will accomplish your goals much faster. Joel Osteen

TIME MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES

ISSUE # 5 – You don’t start your day early enough.

Most of us do little in the evening.

That time is largely wasted just lying around the house or staring at your phone.

That’s why so many highly successful people skip the evening hours by going to bed and waking up extra early.

  • Your brain tends to shut down by the late afternoon, whether you started your day at 9:00AM or 5:00AM. Give yourself a few extra productive hours by getting up early and going to bed early.

TIME MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES

ISSUE # 6 – You fail to track your time.

Track how you spend your time each day.

Switch tasks when appropriate so everything receives the time it requires.

  • Keep a simple journal and make a record each hour of how you spent the last 60 minutes.

TIME MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES

ISSUE # 7 – You don’t have a plan for your day.

Your day shouldn’t be random or determined on the fly.

To get the most out of your time, it’s necessary to have a plan for the day.

  • Make a detailed plan for your day before you go to bed. Spend your day executing that plan as well as you can.

It takes as much energy to wish as it does to plan. Eleanor Roosevelt

A goal plan today is better than a perfect plan tomorrow. George S. Patton

Good planning without good working is nothing. Dwight D. Eisenhower

All you need is the plan, the road map and the courage to press on to your destination. Earl Nightingale

TIME MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES

ISSUE # 8 – You’re not focused.

You’ve been told to “focus” or “concentrate” since you started kindergarten.

Too bad the education system never taught you how.

If you sit down to work on something for an hour, how many minutes is your attention truly focused on that task?

  • You probably have plenty of time to accomplish everything you need to do each day, but you just need to focus at a higher level. Practice meditation. Practice focusing on whatever it is you’re doing. Focus is built through practice.

Whenever you want to achieve something, keep your eyes open, concentrate and make sure you know exactly what it is you want. No one can hit their target with their eyes closed. Paulo Coelho

Concentrate all your thoughts upon the work at hand. The sun’s rays do not burn until brought to a focus. Alexander Graham Bell

You don’t get results by focusing on results. You get results by focusing on the actions that produce results. Mike Hawkins

The successful warrior is the average man, with laser-like focus. Bruce Lee

I don’t care how much power, brilliance or energy you have, if you don’t harness it and focus it on a specific target, and hold it there you’re never going to accomplish as much as your ability warrants. Zig Ziglar

Don’t dwell on what went wrong. Instead, focus on what to do next. Spend your energies on moving forward toward finding the answer.
Denis Waitley

Energy is the essence of life. Every day you decide how you’re going to use it by knowing what you want and what it takes to reach that goal, and by maintaining focus. Oprah Winfrey

That’s been one of my mantras – focus and simplicity. Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it’s worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains. Steve Jobs

Make the most of your time by prioritizing, removing distractions, and learning how to focus.

So here’s the thing: You have all the time you need, if you’re willing to make the necessary adjustments to yourself and your life.

So no more excuses.

You have 24 hours each day.

Ensure that you’re using them wisely to chase your dreams and live life with intention.

I know you can do it!
